Primary Purpose:
To assist in maintaining district facilities in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition through proper floor care and general maintenance duties. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Floor Crew Foreman to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and in accordance with district standards.
Education/Certification:
Eight grade education or higher
Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, and communicate effectively using standard communication tools such as telephones and two-way radios. Demonstrates basic knowledge of floor care procedures and general building maintenance, including cleaning, sanitation, and minor repairs. Ability to safely operate floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, burnishers, and related tools. Possesses the ability to follow instructions, adhere to work schedules, and comply with safety procedures. Exhibits strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively under the direction of the Floor Crew Foreman. Must be capable of maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Experience:
One or more years of outstanding performance, while working for P-SJ-A- ISD (preferred)
One year of outstanding performance while working for a reputable company which specializes or is closely related to the job responsibilities as listed in the job description.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate and acceptable

Technical Skills, Responsibilities and Duties
|

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Commencing scheduled work:
- Perform routine floor care including dust mopping, wet mopping, and spot cleaning as scheduled or as needed.
- Buff and spray buff floors using appropriate equipment and pads.
- Scrub floors using power equipment and appropriate scrubbing pads.
- Strip floors using approved chemicals and equipment, including mops, auto-scrubbers, and wet vacuums, ensuring proper safety signage is displayed.
- Seal and finish floors using appropriate materials and application methods.
- Burnish floors using high-speed and ultra-high-speed floor machines.
- Follow established work schedules for maintaining hallways, gyms, cafeterias, and other designated district areas.
- Move district furniture, equipment, and materials to support maintenance activities and event setups.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of district events and activities.
- Respond to maintenance-related service calls and emergency situations as directed.
- Follow procedures to maintain sanitation standards and help prevent the spread of bacteria and infection.
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed when handling equipment, chemicals, and materials, including loading, unloading, transporting, and storing equipment.
- Ensure work areas and facilities are properly secured during and after completion of assigned tasks.
- Assist in emergency preparation activities, including securing furniture and materials during severe weather events.
- Follow all district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Work under the direct supervision of the Floor Crew Foreman and follow assigned schedules and daily work directives.
- Communicate progress, delays, safety concerns, and equipment or supply needs to the Foreman in a timely manner.
- Work collaboratively with other crew members to complete assignments efficiently and meet departmental goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Floor Crew Foreman, Maintenance Supervisor, or Director, including tasks required to support maintenance operations and respond to emergency or urgent situations.
