Primary Purpose:
Coordinates and implements the administration and processing of district, state and
federally mandated assessments, provides training and support for campus test coordinators, principals, support personnel, and ensures that policies, test administration and security procedures are followed districtwide. Will also provide guidance on changes to the state assessment program, coordinate online testing, manage and train on the assessment software systems. Perform other tasks and assume such responsibilities as related to the position and as assigned.
Education/Certification:
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
Valid Texas Teacher Certification
Texas Mid-Management Certification, preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of district, federal and state testing programs
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; highly organized and attentive to details
Maintain confidentiality at all times
Ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently in all phases of assigned responsibilities
Ability to interpret policy, procedures, manuals
Ability to use student test data systems
Ability to maintain strict TEA testing timelines through efficient time management
Team player with ability to problem-solve and work well with all levels of personnel
Advanced computer and technology skills
Ability to develop and deliver trainings to all levels of personnel
Experience:
Five (5) years successful experience in instructional leadership roles and assessment
Three (3) years of experience as an Assistant Principal, preferred
Three (3) years of experience as campus testing coordinator, preferred
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate and acceptable

Technical Skills, Responsibilities and Duties
|

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Assessment Program Management
- Attend all required training sessions
- Monitor state and federal regulations related to state and federal assessment programs. Keep all stakeholders updated. (e.g., STAAR, STAAR EOC, STAAR Alt 2, TELPAS/TELPAS Alt, NAEP, Credit Recovery, AP testing, TSI, etc.).
- Coordinate and prepare for state and federal assessment programs including, training, ordering materials, pre-registering students (when necessary), inventory and managing distribution and collection of secure and non-secure testing materials
- Ensure data integrity as related to state and federal testing systems, including transmission of student registration files, receipt of student result data files, and transferring assessment result files to appropriate data systems (e.g., SharePoint-Assessment, Test Hound, DMAC, Accuplacer, GradPoint, Cognos, PEIMS, TSI, Pearson, TAMS, PNP App, etc.) before, during and after each testing cycle and throughout the school year
- Train campus testing coordinators and district staff on procedures and guidelines of the Texas State Assessment Program, including materials management, confidentiality and test security.
- Collaborate with other departments in order to ensure the successful implementation of the state assessment program for specialized student groups (e.g., ELL, SPED., etc.) that may require accommodations, modifications, etc.
- Maintain processes for state and federal testing irregularity and incident reporting
- Provide resources, trainings, and materials to support campus/district staff in accomplishing student assessment goals, including use of software systems, interpreting data, online testing
- Obtain and use evaluative findings, including student performance data, to examine curriculum and instructional program effectiveness to improve student performance (e.g., interim assessments, benchmark tests, etc.)
- Serve as a liaison between school/district and other agencies related to state and federal assessment programs
- Consult with parents, administrators, counselors, teachers, community agencies and other relevant individuals regarding state and federal student assessment programs.
Policy, Reports, and Law Responsibilities
- Compile, maintain, and file all assessment reports, records, and other documents required,
- including mandatory reports to state and federal agencies
- Comply with policies established by state and federal law, State Board of Education rule, and local school board policy
- Report all testing irregularities to the Director of Assessment
Additional Responsibilities
- Use effective communication skills to present information accurately, clearly and in a timely manner
- Respond in an efficient and timely manner to directives, tasks, or projects assigned by the director
- Keep a running log of day to day activities to be completed, dates and deadlines
- Adhere to the district’s safety policies and procedures

- Train campus and district users in the assessment and reporting capabilities of the district assessment softwareOrganize logistics for scheduling, printing, proofing, distributing and conducting all testing in the district (e.g., CBA’s, Benchmarks, interim tests, etc.)
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise access and use of the state provided web-based systems (e.g., TAMS, TOMS, etc.) for monitoring state and federal assessment programs by campus and district staff
- Supervise access and use of district provided software systems (e.g., DMAC, TestHound, etc.)
- Oversee completion of end of test cycle responsibilities (e.g., intake of test materials, shipping)
